Deep Tissue Massage

30 minutes: $40
60 minutes: $70
90 minutes: $100

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy

60 minutes: $70
90 minutes: $100

The original western barefoot bar massage technique using deep tissue/compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body. This technique is also called DeepFeet Bar Therapy.

Specific strokes create a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage and provide deep relaxation. The therapist uses bars attached to the ceiling for support and balance. Oil is applied to the body. The continuous deep tissue pressure delivered with the feet covers much larger areas at once than the hands. The foot is broad and makes the compression smooth and sumptuous not bony and prodding like using an elbow or thumb. Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy is ideal for clients who prefer a deeper massage. There are contraindications for deep compression ( ex: osteoporosis) and these will be discussed with your therapist.

There are conditions where clients should not receive hot stone treatments. This list is not exhaustive:

  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Autoimmune dysfunctions
  • Epilepsy
  • Neuropathy
  • Heart disease
